RTV Pink Announces Series on Hate Speech

BELGRADE, July 10, 2002 - "I was shocked when I heard," said Milica Lucic Cavic, president of the Independent Association of Serbian Journalists when asked by daily Glas javnosti to comment on the announcement from RTV Pink that it was going to make a programme on the responsibility of journalists for war-mongering. "Then again, when I think about it, at the time Pink had no news program, so it was not a direct promoter of the war-mongering policy. The authorities had a different role for them - to create a false picture of pink reality in the country, to confuse and dumb down the people. That's why it's hypocritical of Pink to announce it will deal with such topic," said Lucic-Cavic.
