Orlic Calls for Responsibility Through Laws

BELGRADE, July 17, 2002 - It is necessary to adopt the public information act and legislation on access to information as soon as possible in order to establish responsibility for the information field through legislation, Federal Information Secretary Slobodan Orlic said yesterday. Commenting in a written statement on a growing number of incidents involving Serbian media and journalists, Orlic said that there was no essential legitimacy for a democratically organised state without these two laws and that the number of such incidents would continue to increase.
