Cacak Protesters Destroy Newspapers

CACAK, July 18, 2002 - Protesters from the Ravna Gora Freedom Movement today tore up copies of dailies Danas and Politika in the centre of Cacak. Spokesman Vladimir Stenjajic told media that the act was in protest at what he described as the anti-Serb editorial policy of the newspapers. He cited negative references to nationalist heroes Bishop Nikolaj and Draza Mihajlovic and damage to Cacak by mentioning the town's mayor, Velimir Ilic, in a negative context.
