Union Negotiations Broken Off

BELGRADE, January 30, 2003 – Negotiations between the Nezavisnost union and the state television network’s management have been broken off, the union announced yesterday. “The reason for the cancellation is the lack of readiness on the part of the management to discuss union demands, salaries, bonuses and individual contracts,” said the union in a statement. Radio Television Serbia was unaffected yesterday by the union’s strike action, because only non-broadcast services were involved.
