RTS boss says they’re not obliged to cover parliament
BELGRADE, 15 May, 2003 -- Following a three-hour long debate by the Serbian Parliament’s Culture and Information Board, RTS general-director Aleksandar Crkvenjakov insisted: “I do not have a document which states that Radio Television Serbia must provide live coverage of parliamentary sessions”. Crkvenjakov said that the RTS management board could accept the parliament’s decision of resign, due to its opinion that live broadcasts are causing extremely high financial damagaes to RTS, as well as affecting its programming.
