State of emergency detainees released

BELGRADE, 9 June, 2003 – The Serbian authorities have released four more people arrested during Operation Sabre carried out under the state of emergency. Amongst them were Gradisa Katic, chief editor of banned publication Identitet, and lawyers Slobodan Milivojevic, Nikola Djogumovic and Miodrag Gligorijevic. All four have spent the past two months in Belgrade's Central Prison. Speaking to agency Beta, Katic confirmed that he and the lawyers were released yesterday. He added that he feels okay and was treated correctly during his time in custody. The lawyers declined to give statements. The investigative judge of Belgrade's District Court questioned all four prior to their release yesterday.
