Court rejects Popovic’s lawsuit against KVS

BELGRADE, July 15, 2003 – The First Municipal Court in Belgrade has rejected the lawsuit filed by Vladimir “Beba” Popovic against KVS. This court decision was passed after Popovic withdrew the lawsuit. Popovic, otherwise known as "Baby", faces a 38,000-dinar bill (approx. 600 euros) after he mistakenly sued KVS, which later argued that it could not be held responsible for Radio B92's news output. The court rejected Popovic's request that the lawsuit simply be altered, and ordered he pay fees incurred. The next hearing, this time only against the Humanitarian Law Center, has been scheduled for September 10, 2003. According to KVS and B92 lawyer Slobodan Kremenjak: "By that time Vladimir Popovic can be expected to file a new lawsuit against B92 and to have asked that these two lawsuits be joined”.
