Journalist brutally attacked by Arkan killer

LOZNICA, July 30, 2003 – Vladimir Mitric, Vecernje novosti's Loznica correspondent, was brutally attacked two nights ago by a convicted murderer. The incident happened at around 7pm in the Tisina restaurant, when Mitric was verbally and then physically abused by Stobeks Company owner Dobrivoje Sgojnic and Stojan Rankovic, one of the men convicted for the murder of notorious underworld figure Zeljko "Arkan" Raznatovic. Violence broke out after Rankovic asked the journalist to apologise for writing about him and Mitric refused.
