TV proprietor arrested over unpaid tax

VALJEVO, August 26, 2003 – Police in Valjevo said on Saturday that they have arrested the proprietor of the local television station Mars, Zoran Dovecer, on suspicion of concealing 786,00 dinars (about 12,000 euros) in sales tax over the past three years. Dovecer is also suspected of forging invoices and documents for phantom companies to be registered in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Smederevo on the basis of counterfeit documents. He was remanded in custody for thirty days in the Valjevo District Court.
