RADIO BOOM 93, 13 YEARS ON AIR

POZAREVAC, September 7, 2005 - 13 years ago the first independent radio station in Pozarevac and its vicinity "Boom 93" went on air, on 93.4 MHz frequency This radio station was established in the hometown of Milosevic-Markovic family, Pozarevac, in the summer of 1992. After a test period, the radio went officially on air on September 6th the same year. Boom 93 was the first radio that enabled the listeners who lived in the provinces to hear the rerun of shows by Belgrade's B92, Radio Free Europe, BBC, and Voice of America... Slobodan Milosevic's regime banned the broadcast of the only independent radio in Pozarevac at that time on three occasions, and as a consequence Boom 93 was off the air for 25 months. "Radio was and still is independent, open-minded, professional, urban..." says Misa Tadic, describing the character of its radio station today. The founder of Boom 93 thanked all those who supported Boom 93 and helped weather those turbulent years of Milosevic's dictatorship.
