COALITION'S ASSETS

BELGRADE, September 11, 2005 - Representatives of media organisations and professional associations noted that, according to the statement of the culture and information minister Kojadinovic, the subscription fee should not be more than 300 dinars. The associations basically share the opinion that it is not utterly clear how would the irregular payers be penalized. They all however think that many would oppose the "TV impost". If the new deadline for transformation into a public service broadcaster is broken, the citizens would end up paying the government's television, not the public service. All professional circles agree that the purpose of the subscription is to depoliticize the financing of the station and acquittal of public service from the excessive political influence. In this case, the citizens would pay not for public but coalition's goods. The ones who fail to pay would be fined.
