TVCG EDITORS RESIGNED

PODGORICA, January 3, 2006 – The team of editors of TV Crna Gora submitted their resignations after the RTCG Council had dismissed the program director Veljo Jaukovic. Editor of the First Program Snjezana Nikcevic, editor of Second Program Velibor Covic and editor of the Satellite Program Melanija Bulatovic resigned, together with other seven editors of the news program. The team of editors said they would however continue to perform their duties until the appointment of a new program director. Jaukovic was denied credentials for failing to provide the supplement to the television program scheme for next year, and the Council decided not to adopt such plan. The team of editors of this television pointed earlier to political and other interests lobbies’ influence on the station’s conduct.
