60 MILLION FOR NATIONAL FREQUENCY

BELGRADE, January 14, 2006 – The Broadcast Agency Council has adopted the Rules on payment rates for program broadcasting. The rules envisage the 10 percent decrease of the previously proposed payment rates. According to the Rules, the annual fee for program broadcasting on national frequency would be around 60.7 million dinars for television and around 12.1 million dinars for radio, said in the RRA. The payment rate for broadcasting TV program in Vojvodina would be around 22.8 million, while 4.5 million dinars should be paid for radio program. RRA also stated that the payment rates for the city of Belgrade would be 12.1 million dinars for TV and 2.4 million for radio broadcasters. The Council also adopted the Rules on issuing licenses for program broadcasting, as well as the decision to appeal to the Ministry of Finance to exempt the broadcasters from paying the VAT.
