DEUTSCHE WELLE IN BELGRADE

BELGRADE, March 31, 2006 – Radio Deutsche Welle would start program broadcasting from Belgrade, head of the Deutsche Welle for Central and Eastern Europe Verica Spasovska said. Spasovska announced at the press conference that the new program of “Radio Metropola”, as the joint project of the German foreign radio program and Bonton Radio, would be aired at the frequency 89.4 MHz from April 1, 2006. She also pointed out that the program would be aired “for almost 12 hours” and that it would include news, culture and sports feature and music. According to Spasovska, the program will be broadcast in Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and German language, and will focus, among other issues, on the support to democratic and transition processes of the Balkans countries on their way to European Union.
