BROADCASTING TRANSMITTER VANDALISED IN PREŠEVO

PREŠEVO, July 10, 2006 (B92)- Unidentified vandals broke a transmitter belonging to the Radio-Television Preševo yesterday. The culprits broke into the building located on the Balaban hill near Preševo in which the transmitter is located. Even though equipment belonging to the Mobtel telecommunications and mobile phone services company is located in the same complex, their equipment was not tampered with. The Preševo municipal government is the founder of the station, which broadcasts in both Serbian and Albanian. The stations programming has been off the air because of this incident since early Sunday afternoon.
