RTS BOMBING BOOK GIVEN TO PROSECUTOR

BELGRADE, July 24, 2006 (Beta)- Deputy Special Prosecutor Velimir Golubović received the book "Tišina u Abardarevoj" today. The book, titled "Silence in Abardareva Street" in English, explores the circumstances around the 1999 NATO bombing of Radio Television Serbia’s building. Žanka Stojanović, the mother of one of RTS’s workers who died in the bombing, gave the book to Golubović today. The book’s author Zoran Janić claims that the workers in the RTS building were consciously sacrificed during the 1999 bombing. Janić offers proof that Serbian senior officials, acting as an organised criminal association, purposely sacrificed the lives of 16 RTS workers in the spring of 1999, in order to use their deaths as propaganda against the international community and NATO, who were responsible for the bombing. Media sources reported earlier that Golubović had an almost five hour discussion in late June with Aleksandar Petkanić, a member of Marko Milosevic’s security team, whose father Slobodan Milosevic was the president of Yugoslavia at the time of the bombing.
