NOVI SAD RADIO 021 CELEBRATES 10TH BIRTHDAY

NOVI SAD, 10 June 2007 (B92, Beta) - Novi Sad's first independent radio station, Radio 021, today marks its 10th anniversary.

"At the time the station was founded, independent and objective reporting in Novi Sad could be heard only on our radio channel," Radio 021 editorial staff says on its web site.

Radio 021 founders were the City of Novi Sad, Audio Konstruktor and In Press companies. In time, Radio 021 employees became its owners.

During the 1999 NATO bombing campaign, the radio’s transmitter was confiscated and the station was temporarily shut down.

On April 6, 2000, a fire broke out in Radio 021 studios, when all of the equipment was destroyed. However, the radio went back on air only two days later.
