JOURNALISM IN SERBIAN SOCIETY

BELGRADE, 25 July 2007. (B92) - Journalism is not seen in Serbia as the most corrupt profession, but is not a popular one either.

According to a survey on journalism conducted by the Strategic Marketing Agency comissioned by the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS), B92 is seen by both journalists and citizens as a reliable source of information and the B92 website is one of the most used resources for journalists.

The survey was based on questions regarding politicization and corruption of the media, and how independent, informative and trustworthy the media is in Serbia.

According to data from 2002, there are 6,148 journalists and publicists in Serbia with 57 percent of them working in Belgrade.
